Calcium carbonate is a common inorganic compound, commonly known as limestone, chalk, stone powder, etc. It is found in rocks such as aragonite, calcite, chalk, limestone, marble, and travertine. Depending on the production method, calcium carbonate can be classified into heavy calcium carbonate, light calcium carbonate, colloidal calcium carbonate, and crystalline calcium carbonate. Heavy calcium carbonate (heavy calcium) is produced by mechanically crushing natural limestone, calcite, and other materials using grinding equipment like Raymond mills. Light calcium carbonate (light calcium) is obtained by calcining limestone at high temperatures, hydrating it with water, carbonating it with carbon dioxide, and finally dehydrating, drying, and grinding it.
Requirements for grinding and processing heavy calcium carbonate:
Coarse powder processing (0-3MM)
Fine powder processing (20 mesh-400 mesh)
Ultrafine powder processing (400 mesh-1250 mesh)
Ultrafine powder processing (1250 mesh-3250 mesh)
Large chunks of calcium carbonate are crushed by a crusher to the feed fineness (15mm-50mm) that can enter the grinding mill.
The crushed small pieces of calcium carbonate are sent to the storage bin by the elevator, and then they are evenly and quantitatively sent into the grinding chamber of the mill for grinding through the feeding equipment. For fine powder processing, LM vertical mills, MTW European version mills are generally used; for ultrafine powder processing, LUM ultrafine vertical mills and SCM ultrafine mills are generally used.
The ground material is classified by a classifier, and the unqualified powder is classified by the classifier and returned to the main machine for re-grinding.
The powder that meets the fineness requirements is separated and collected in the dust collector through the pipeline with the airflow. The collected finished powder is sent to the finished product bin through the discharge port by the conveying device, and then uniformly packaged using a powder tanker or an automatic packing machine.
Based on the absorption of advanced technologies of famous international corporations and 30 years’ experience in grinding mill production, SBM has launched the LM Vertical Grinding Mill which integrates five functions of crushing, grinding, powder selection, drying and material conveying. It is characterized by centralized technological process, small occupational area, low investment, high efficiency, energy conservation and environment protection.
LUM Ultrafine Vertical Grinding Mill is independently designed by SBM on the basis of years of experience in grinding mill production. LUM grinding mill adopts the latest Taiwan grinding roller technology and German powder separating technology. The ultrafine vertical grinding mill integrating ultrafine powder grinding, grading and transporting has become a better choice in the ultrafine powder grinding industry.
MTW European Grinding Mill is innovatively designed through deep research on grinding mills and development experience. It absorbs the latest European powder grinding technology and concept, and combines the suggestions of 9158 customers on grinding mills. This grinding mill perfectly satisfies the production demands of the customers on 200-33μm (80-425Mesh) fine powder.
SCM Ultrafine Grinding Mill is a new superfine powder (325-2500 mesh) production equipment developed through accumulating years of experience in grinding mill production, absorbing Swedish advanced machine manufacturing technology, and undergoing many years of tests and improvements. The SCM Ultrafine Grinding Mill is the result of combination of advanced Chinese and Swedish technologies. Meanwhile, it symbolizes the new development and new science in the grinding world.
