Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral, commonly found in natural calcium carbonate and widely distributed. Calcite crystals come in various shapes, forming clusters of crystals, grains, blocks, fibers, stalactites, and earthy forms. When struck, calcite breaks into many square fragments, hence the name “calcite.” Calcite is a major mineral in limestone and marble and has numerous uses in production and daily life. Limestone can form caves, and stalactites, stalagmites, and travertine inside caves are composed of calcite.
Calcite powder processing generally involves four types: coarse powder processing (0-3mm), fine powder processing (20 mesh – 400 mesh), ultrafine powder deep processing (400 mesh – 1250 mesh), and micro powder processing (1250 mesh – 3250 mesh). Depending on the material and the required degree of refinement, as well as the specific application field, the production process may vary, requiring flexible operation.
Large chunks of calcite are crushed by a crusher into feed fineness suitable for entry into the grinding machine (15mm-50mm).
The crushed calcite chunks are transported to the silo by a hoist, then evenly and quantitatively fed into the grinding chamber of the mill through conveying equipment for grinding.
For fine powder processing, MTW European Trapezium Mill, MRN Pendulum Roller Mill, and LM Vertical Mill are generally selected; for ultrafine powder processing, LUM ultrafine vertical mill and SCM Ultrafine Mill are typically chosen;
The ground material is classified by a classifier, and the unqualified powder is returned to the main machine for re-grinding after classification.
Powder of the appropriate fineness enters the dust collector with the airflow through the pipeline for separation and collection. The collected finished powder is sent to the finished product silo through a conveying device at the discharge port, and then packaged uniformly using powder tanks or automatic packaging machines.
Based on the absorption of advanced technologies of famous international corporations and 30 years’ experience in grinding mill production, SBM has launched the LM Vertical Grinding Mill which integrates five functions of crushing, grinding, powder selection, drying and material conveying. It is characterized by centralized technological process, small occupational area, low investment, high efficiency, energy conservation and environment protection.
LUM Ultrafine Vertical Grinding Mill is independently designed by SBM on the basis of years of experience in grinding mill production. LUM grinding mill adopts the latest Taiwan grinding roller technology and German powder separating technology. The ultrafine vertical grinding mill integrating ultrafine powder grinding, grading and transporting has become a better choice in the ultrafine powder grinding industry.
MTW European Grinding Mill is innovatively designed through deep research on grinding mills and development experience. It absorbs the latest European powder grinding technology and concept, and combines the suggestions of 9158 customers on grinding mills. This grinding mill perfectly satisfies the production demands of the customers on 200-33μm (80-425Mesh) fine powder.
SCM Ultrafine Grinding Mill is a new superfine powder (325-2500 mesh) production equipment developed through accumulating years of experience in grinding mill production, absorbing Swedish advanced machine manufacturing technology, and undergoing many years of tests and improvements. The SCM Ultrafine Grinding Mill is the result of combination of advanced Chinese and Swedish technologies. Meanwhile, it symbolizes the new development and new science in the grinding world.
