Limestone Grinding Mill

Description

Limestone is primarily composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), a compound that is common on Earth and can be found in rocks. Limestone and lime are extensively used as building materials and are also important raw materials in many industries. Limestone can be directly processed into stone and calcined to produce quicklime. Lime is categorized into quicklime and hydrated lime. The main component of quicklime is CaO, which generally appears in block form and is white when pure, but can be light gray or light yellow when it contains impurities. Quicklime absorbs moisture or is added with water to become hydrated lime, whose main component is Ca(OH)2. Hydrated lime can be mixed to form lime slurry or lime paste.

Construction Industry

  • Cement Production: Limestone powder is a key ingredient in the manufacture of cement, providing the necessary calcium oxide content.
  • Concrete and Mortar: It is added to concrete and mortar mixes to improve workability and durability.

Limestone Powder Processing Technology

Stage 1: Crushing

Large pieces of limestone are crushed by a crusher to a feed size (15mm-50mm) that can enter the grinding mill.

Stage 2: Grinding

The crushed small pieces of limestone are sent to the storage bin by an elevator, then uniformly and quantitatively sent to the grinding chamber by a feeding device for grinding. For fine powder processing, LM vertical mill, MTW European version mill is generally used; for ultrafine powder processing, LUM ultrafine vertical mill or SCM ultrafine mill is generally used, and for coarse powder processing, straight-through centrifugal mill is used.

Stage 3: Classification

The ground material is classified by a classifier, and the unqualified powder is returned to the main machine for regrinding after classification by the classifier.

Stage 4: Powder Collection

The powder that meets the fineness requirements is separated and collected in a dust collector through pipelines. The collected finished powder is sent to the finished product silo by a discharge device and then uniformly packed using a powder tanker or automatic packing machine.
